Team Parent (1 per team)
Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in finding volunteers for team and future events

• HAVE FUN with team! Find ways to build a community around the team and players. You will likely be spending lots of time in the rink with these new friends!

• Pizza parties, movie nights, game nights, etc.

• Assist coaches with any logistics, communications, or other assistance they may need throughout the season.

 

Snack list Coordinator (1 per team)

Our skaters will hopefully come off the ice exhausted and look forward to a reward/treat for their efforts.  This is an optional activity and is left to the team parents to decide how to handle.

Duties include:

• Get the parent contact information for their team from their coach

• Coordinate with parents for each practice the following:

  • 1 person to bring snacks

  • 1 person to bring drinks

• Suggested process:

  • Email the parents asking for volunteers to bring snacks/drinks for each practice, and keep track of volunteers

    • Strongly recommend using Sign Up Genius (www.signupgenius.com) for this.  

      • It is online, free, and sends email/text reminders.

      • Parents can log in to see what available dates are open to bring a snack or a drink, who is bringing what & when

      • Names of those signed up are displayed, making monitoring who is bringing what & when easy.

• This will not be displayed automatically on the teams website.  However, you can communicate with your Website Parent to have a section created where this can be seen.

 

Pizza Parent (1-2 per team)

• Attend Pizza Sales meeting

• Communicate to parents via email about pizza sales

• Hand out pizza sales information and instructions.

• Collect all pizza sale orders and payments/money from families, (electronic calculators will be emailed to all pizza parents).

• Submit all orders/money at Pizza Sales hand in date. (electronic calculators will be emailed to all pizza parents)

Note:

• Each family is responsible to gather all payments of sales.

• Each family is responsible to pick up their orders when they arrive, and to deliver the customers.

Picture Parent (1-2 volunteers per team) on picture day

• Duties include scheduling online the team for picture date & time

• Reminding parents about picture day/time via email

• Collect order forms on picture day.  

• Pictures will be delivered to the Picture Parent.  Picture Parent will then deliver pictures to families when they arrive.

 

Outdoor Hockey Day (1-2 per team)

Each team is required to provide 1-2 helpers for the Outdoor Hockey Day.  Duties include:

• Shoveling rinks

• Concessions sales

• Keeping fire pits running

This is a great event the kids look forward to each year.

Jamboree or Special Game Events (1 per team)

Assist during jamboree or other special game events to:

• Run the clock

• Play the national anthem, (off of a phone - a connection will be available at the time of the game in the penalty box).

• Someone to announce names at the end of the Jamboree (a microphone will be available in the penalty box).

• Someone to assist with handing out trophies

 

Website Parent (1 per team)

Updating team webpage if needed with team schedule, other events, etc. – Information would be given to Website Parent from their coach.

Assist coaching in getting ready for practices:

• Put nets on rink

• Put bumpers on/off ice

• Put cones on ice

Assist OMC Staff:

• Keeping kids in lines

• Ensure kids are listening while in line
